Fire causes over $180,000 in damages overnight...
A storage building at Hermitage Hardwoods burst into flames last night destroying around $160,000
Cookeville Fire Department arrived on scene just before 10pm and were battling the blaze until 1am this morning. Employees were then allowed to examine the damage and salvage what they could from the site. Fortunately the business did not suffer a total loss although they did lose quite a bit of their lumber inventory. A total dollar amount has yet to be placed on the fire but looks to be in excess of $185,000 but only a small portion of that total is damage to the storage building itself. An investigation has been launched to try and determine the exact cause of the fire. At the time of publication the evidence suggests and electrical fire to be the primary cause.
