Tennessee U.S. Congressman Diane Black says the health insurance tax or "HIT" -- to help fund the Affordable Care Act -- will have a devastaing effect on small business and employees.
The Gallatin Republican says it's estimated the new fee will cost businesses as much as $500 more per family annually.
"Employers will have to make decisions when they have these increased costs -- about the number of employees and what they can afford to do to help this employee with this additional cost," Black told the WHUB News Center.
Black, who hosted a discussion with small business owners in Cookeville, says there's bipartisan support for a bill to repeal the fee, but she says that money would have to found somewhere else for the so-called Obama-care to continue.
