There’s nothing like the look of a deputy in uniform, especially when that uniform replaces one that’s been used for more than ten years. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department recently received new uniforms, and Sheriff Eddie Farris says they are the agency’s first in more than ten years.
“We had deputies in uniforms with various types of patches and badges,” Farris said. “There was no consistency in our uniforms and equipment and those are things that are hazards to our deputies.”
The Sheriff’s department has also been awarded two grants to help buy new bullet-proof vests and high visibility safety and rain gear.
