Under the leadership of Dr. Matthew Zagumny, students from Tennessee Technological University will be conducting a survey in April to assess public opinion of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office since Sheriff Eddie Farris came into office.
“We are pleased to have formed this partnership with TTU and look forward to the results,” said Sheriff Eddie Farris. “It is important that we know what the community thinks about our Department and the changes that we have made so far. This will serve as a baseline as we assess future areas of need and develop new programs to meet those needs.”
This opportunity has been made possible by an upper division psychology class at Tennessee Technological University led by Dr. Matthew Zagumny in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Department. The researchers have developed an online survey to allow participants a forum for voicing their level of satisfaction with the Department itself, as well as perceptions of the Department.
The survey link has been distributed in schools, churches and libraries throughout Putnam County. Residents may also find the survey link on the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office FaceBook page or on the website at www.putnamcountytnsheriff.com on the “Get Involved” page. The survey is completely anonymous and the results will be used to improve the Department in the present and future.
